"Fly Free" is a selection of devotional songs, Psalms and musical compositions. The subject matter cover various aspects of my life's journey - creative, vocational and spiritual. The album comprises nine track which I have written over the past 25 years, together with my own arrangement of the Old Testament Psalms 63 and 107. The musical styles vary from Blues and Country to Folk, Scottish Dance Band and Calypso.

Part of the proceeds from the album are to go to my sister Val Whyte's charity in Indonesia, the Safe Haven Project. This is an educational outreach initiative to empower street children and their families with income-generating knowledge and technical skills. "Fly Free" is the name of the school: hence the title of the album. It is also an apt summary of the freedom that the Christian life brings to the individual.

One of the songs is dedicated to Alison MacDonald - the daughter of the Rev. Kenny MacDonald, formerly of Rosskeen Free Church, who now lives in Golspie - who went missing when travelling in Kashmir, North India, in 1981.

The beautiful artwork on the album cover is by the acclaimed painter, Rob Sweeney. Rob has kindly allowed us to share his work on the new album sleeve as a gesture of support for the fundraising potential it has for my sister's charitable school in Indonesia.

My grateful thanks also go to my good friend Martin Stephenson of the Daintees, who played a variety of guitar parts on this album. His experience and contribution to the recording has been invaluable.
